Collaboration models

Working together for successful project realization

The increasing complexity of construction projects combined with cost and time pressure as well as increasing demands for sustainability require collaborative and cooperative teamwork. At ERNE, we are convinced that a collaborative partnership that promotes innovation and the fascination of construction is the foundation for successful construction projects. In addition to the familiar contract models such as general contractor (GC) and total contractor (TC), we also offer integrated and collaborative partnership models such as design build and integrated project delivery (IPD) and are also open to other contract models. Do you have any questions or already have a concrete idea of which model you would like to use to realize your project? Our market developers look forward to a personal exchange.

Design Build

With the Design Build method, planning (design) and execution (build) merge together. All key companies are already involved in the planning phase and work together with the planners to create innovative, efficient solutions and pull together. The design-build method ensures that execution risks are identified and eliminated at an early stage. In addition, thanks to the companies' specialist knowledge, critical success factors are prepared in detail before construction is submitted, resulting in a high level of planning and execution reliability. Thanks to Design Build's collaborative approach, costs can be verified very accurately at the construction submission stage and construction projects can be implemented faster, more economically and more sustainably overall.

The advantages of Design Build

  • The client has one point of contact, as a contract is concluded between the client and the overall provider

  • Early cost estimates and continuous monitoring of critical success factors from pre-project planning onwards help to keep to the budget

  • The client, planning and contractor teams work together from the outset, which improves communication and creates a high degree of transparency

  • The method gives the contractors a knowledge advantage, allowing them to work faster and with better quality without time pressure

  • The collaborative approach leads to innovative solutions and increased efficiency

Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)

Integrated Project Delivery, orIPD for short, is a collaborative project development method in which all relevant stakeholders such as the client, planners, architects, builders and other companies have equal rights and are involved from the outset. The previous silo mentality is broken down and replaced by partnership, transparency, trust and a common goal - best-for-project. The high level of expertise in partnership-based project management also enables a rapid response to project-related risks and promotes innovative solutions.

The advantages of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)

  • All parties share responsibility and risks in order to achieve common project goals

  • Open communication and the continuous exchange of information between all parties involved is improved

  • All key stakeholders are involved in the planning process right from the start

  • Project quality is improved through the early involvement and cooperation of all stakeholders

  • Common goals and shared responsibility reduce conflicts and disputes

  • Joint planning and close collaboration lead to cost and time savings

  • The collaborative environment encourages novel solutions and enables the management of highly complex projects
