Safety on the construction site

Safety on construction sites is a top priority at ERNE. Around 800 employees work for our company every day. Our aim is to create a safe and healthy working environment for everyone.

To minimize risks, we rely on clear rules, regular training and the continuous optimization of our work processes.

Safety as part of our corporate culture

Close cooperation between EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) and operational employees ensures that safety requirements are implemented in a practical manner and continuously improved. Key elements include RAMS (Risk Assessment & Method Statements), systematic hazard identification and clear, comprehensible workplace instructions and safety instructions for all activities.

In addition, we have specialized resources in the area of occupational safety who can accompany individual construction sites on a longer-term basis if required in accordance with customer wishes. This enables even more consistent implementation of the defined safety measures throughout the entire duration of the project.

This approach enables us to guarantee a high level of safety, transparent processes and reliability for both national and international customers.

Clear standards and well-trained specialists

At ERNE, safety begins on the first day of work, because well-trained specialists form the basis for safe processes. This is why our employees undergo safety training when they start work and why machines and safety-related work are only carried out by qualified personnel. We continuously strengthen the safety awareness and expertise of our teams through regular training and further education.

A central principle is to say stop if a situation appears unsafe. Employees are expressly encouraged to interrupt their work if risks are identified. This right - and at the same time this duty - protects the entire team.

Our measures for more safety on the construction site

  • Site-specific risk assessments, safety concepts (SiKo) and a clear emergency concept that are always reviewed

  • Safety tours by the occupational safety team and the responsible site managers

  • Mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE) for all employees

  • Use of modern and regularly inspected machines and equipment

  • Continuous monitoring and improvement of all protective measures

  • Safety training from the moment you join ERNE

  • Regular safety training and further training: Safety course (SIPA), personal fall protection equipment (PPE), aerial work platforms and construction machinery

  • Weekly safety instructions on all construction sites (toolbox)

  • Monthly training sessions on construction sites prescribed by occupational safety with vital rules or a current focus topic relating to health and safety

Should an accident nevertheless occur, it is systematically recorded and evaluated. If necessary, additional measures are defined to prevent similar incidents in the future.
